Q. Who or what inspires you to pursue music?
A. My parents love music. My mum is a multi-player. She is good at writing songs and lyrics. She used to play the piano and made a song just for me when I was little. That kind of stuff wasn’t crazy-serious but that made me say I want to be a singer, so when people asked me what I wanted to be for the first time that's what I said.
Q. What is the biggest challenge you’ve had as being young in this industry?
A. I am now independent with no management so it is quite difficult to make money to produce my album. I don’t want to make what is already out there like something that people already liked before. I might make what people might like or might not like because I want to make something totally new. I guess it is a challenge.
Q. What inspires you to create your own path?
A. I try to put what I like into my music and videos. I think it is very me when I put what I love rather than what other people would like to see.
Q. How old were you when you knew this is what you wanted to do?
A. I answered above but I don’t know. Maybe 3 years old. I sang but I couldn’t speak well.
Q. How did you get to where you are today?
I used to go to gigs every weekend when I was in middle school. I went to Noraebang/Karaoke three times a week. I went to an art high school because I wanted to do it properly. But it was so different to what I expected. I left school a month later. I thought I should become a K-pop idol with no choices to do music. I went for so many auditions and was with the management for a while but it turned out that it wasn’t for me.
Q. How would you describe your style?
A. I am just a nerd for what I do. (Check out the new M/V: Golden Blood)
Q. What sets you apart from others/ makes you unique?
A. My work doesn't have a specific genre. There are so many different genres that I like and I can work with. I don’t want to limit myself to one genre. Sometimes, I do one type of work and style and sometimes they are very different. I hope people see me as Alice Vicious of combination!
Q. What’s the biggest challenge of being a female in this industry?
A. I think everyone in this business has similar challenges but as a woman in this business, I often get comments on my appearance.
Q. Can you share any inspiring words to young creatives like you?
A. I hope people don’t forget what they had when they started even when they become successful.
Q. What’s the most memorable thing that’s happened to you in your career?
A. Every moment has been unforgettable and I now have lovely friends and fans!
